Vanessa Rascon is a dedicated and passionate associate attorney at Ybarra Maldonado Law Group. A proud first-generation law graduate, Vanessa earned her Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law. Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, Vanessa brings a unique and diverse perspective to her legal practice, enriched by her personal experiences and dedication to advocacy.

During her time at Seattle University School of Law, Vanessa was actively involved in student organizations and legal service clinics. She demonstrated a strong commitment to civil rights, participating in pro bono projects and internships that aimed to support underrepresented communities. 

Vanessa was recognized through the Latinx Law Student Association, as a scholarship recipient, for her commitment to serving the Latinx community through her volunteer and work experience. She was also named a Pro Bono Pledge Awardee  for completing extensive legal pro bono/community volunteer work since matriculating at Seattle University School of Law.

As a first-generation law graduate, Vanessa is particularly passionate about inspiring and supporting other first-generation students and professionals. She understands the challenges and triumphs of navigating the legal field without a familial roadmap and is committed to making the journey smoother for others.

At Ybarra Maldonado Law Group, Vanessa focuses on Immigration Law, where she applies her analytical skills, attention to detail, and unwavering dedication to her clients. She is known for her empathetic approach, ensuring that each client feels heard and supported throughout their legal process.

Outside of the office, Vanessa enjoys spending time with family and friends. Vanessa’s hobbies include reading, running, skiing, traveling and seeking new adventures. Vanessa remains connected to her roots and community through various cultural and social activities. She is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing her to effectively serve a broader range of clients. Vanessa brings a diverse background, strong work ethic, and passion for justice to every case she handles and is proud to form part of Ybarra Maldonado Law Group.
